“Webster Fun in the 1950s and 1960s”

Let’s travel back in time for some Webster fun in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Along the shores of Lake Ontario, in the upper left-hand corner is the sandbar connecting Webster to Irondequoit, a place to enjoy sailing, fishing and boating. Travel south to Inspiration Point where some enjoyed “parking.” Farther to the right, along Lake Road, is the White House in Webster Park, a popular spot for weddings and picnics. To the right of that is Hedges Restaurant, one of the businesses in this picture that is still operating.

Back at Irondequoit Bay, on the left is the Glen Edith Restaurant for a meal with a great view. South of that on Bay Road is Willow Point Park for amusement and sports. Empire Lanes is a fun place to bowl.  We see the Webster Fireman’s Carnival and know we are back in the Village of Webster. The Ridge Theater and the Candy Kitchen are also in the village.

Hop in a car and go down to the Empire Drive-In in West Webster. From the drive-in go to Musclow’s for a hamburg of Carvel’s for an ice cream cone.

These are the fun memories from the 1950’s and 1960’s to make Webster, New York, the place Where Life Is Worth Living. Thanks to the Webster historian and Webster residents who shared their fun memories with us!
